Clinical Research

Over time, we have successfully built our expertise in HIV, paediatric, adolescent and women's health, chronic illness, TB diagnosis and vaccine trials. Although our focus is on infectious diseases, we have also built expertise in researching skin diseases, cardiovascular, diabetes, hypertension, renal, heart and respiratory tract diseases such as asthma and COPD treatment studies. In addition, we have participated successfully in a number of adult and paediatric vaccine studies, including Covid-19 / RSV / Influenza / TB as well as Pneumococcal trials.

Currently most research studies are funded through the Be Part Research (Pty) Ltd Company, whilst all community and clinical activities fall under the Be Part Yoluntu Centre NPC, which is registered with the Department of Social Services as a section 21 company and can provide Section 18A certificates. Sufficient funds generated by the research division is retained for business development and a portion is made available for funding community projects.

Trial Participants Wanted

Individuals that are generally healthy, ages:

6 months to 13 years
14 to 45 years
60+

Individuals with specific conditions:

60+ with diabetes on insulin
60+ with diabetes for more than 10 years
18+ with previous heart attack
18+ with previous stroke
18+ with asthma
18+ with hearth failure
<18 with HIV and current treatment failure
